Mrs T

Dear Mr and Mrs T, and family

I was speaking with Paula on Tuesday and she told me about you Mrs T. I was really saddened to hear that you are not doing so well but really overjoyed to hear that your family had pulled together and allowed you the pleasure of being in your own home. I think that is wonderful and I am really glad that it has been possible, that just shows how deeply they all care for you.

I just wanted to say how much of a wonderful influence you and your family have had on ours, I’m sure this will continue and our friendships will follow us all through our lives. My mother and you are the ones that really established that wonderful bond that we all somehow share and I really thank you for that.

I know that when Otis and Declan were born that you and Mr T really put some prayers into keeping Otis a part of this world and again want to thank you for that. Mrs T there will be many people waiting for you in heaven and I know that Declan and Dad will be among them waiting to embrace your wonderful spirit.

Both Otis and Seamus are well. Otis is 17 and learning to drive a car now. He’s not very good, Stephen told me he had to have 21 driving lessons, and we are getting close to that too! I was driving to work the other day and saw Otis drive past me with his driving instructor I so wanted to wave but resisted the distracting urge. He called me after to say that his driving lesson had gone really well and he only had two fatal errors this time. I don’t ask what they are; he’s just really busting his guts to get to a stage where I can take him driving. I’ve been twice with him and both times I’ve really thought we were going to have a major accident, I’m not very excited by that prospect but will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Seamus is doing very well even though we had a night in the hospital with a broken collar bone. He fell off his skate board and knocked himself out. When we were in the hospital the doctor asked what he hit his head on. He said that it could have been a pole or a bin because he woke up beside them or it could have been the concrete because it felt exactly like other times he’s slapped his head on the concrete. I looked at him in horror and he said “what mum? That happens when you skateboard!” He’s right it does I suppose but that’s the first time I’d heard about slapping your head on the concrete.

I really just wanted to say what a pleasure it has to be a part of your life and growing up with your children. Thank you for all you have done for me and our family over the decades.

You are in my prayers.

Lots of love
